Casting has been announced for the Serenbe Playhouse's upcoming production of the Tony-winning classic Cabaret, which will be presented August 3–27 at The Open Air Room.
The Atlanta production will be directed by Brian Clowdus with associate direction by Ryan Oliveti, music direction by Chris Brent Davis, and choreography by Bubba Carr.
Clowdus will also star as The Emcee. He will be joined by Molly Tynes (Broadway’s Pippin) as Sally Bowles, Deb Bowman as Fräulein Kost, Lee Osorio as Clifford Bradshaw, Heidi Cline McKerley as Fräulein Schneider, Robert Wayne as Herr Shultz, and Blake Burgess as Ernst Ludwig.
Rounding out the company are Lily Dickinson, Brian Jordan, Imani Joseph, Taryn McFarthing, Shannon Murphy, Hayley Platt, and Terrence Smith.
The musical, penned by Joe Masteroff, John Kander, and Fred Ebb, was inspired by Christopher Isherwood’s novel The Berlin Stories. Cabaret takes place in 1931 Berlin as the Nazis begin their ascent to power.
