News Casting Set for World Premiere of Bruce Kimmel Thriller Deceit Writer, director and theatrical record producer Bruce Kimmel has penned a new thriller entitled Deceit, which will make its world premiere next month at the El Portal Forum Theatre in North Hollywood, CA.

Deceit, which will also be directed by Kimmel, is set to begin previews Jan. 9, 2006, with an official opening Jan. 13. The limited engagement will play through Feb. 19. Matthew Ashford, Greg Albanese and Tammy Minoff will co-star in the new work as, respectively, Michael, Jeffrey and Kate.

In Deceit, according to press notes, "twenty-four-year-old Kate Hartman has been a widow for six months — her husband Jeffrey having been killed in a boating accident. On a dark, stormy night in her upper West Side apartment, Kate is paid a visit by Jeffrey's childhood best friend, who has been overseas for ten years."

The creative team for the production includes Matt Scarpino (scenic design) and Craig Housenick (lighting design).

Matthew Ashford can be seen as Jack Devereaux on NBC's "Days of Our Lives." He has also acted in productions of Into the Woods, A Little Night Music and Arcadia. Greg Albanese has been seen onstage in Coming Attractions, Obsessions and Confessions, Scream Into My Breasts and Cabfare for the Common Man. His screen work includes "Perfectly Still," "VIP," "Hunter," "General Hospital" and "Days of Our Lives." Tammy Minoff has been seen on Broadway in The Goodbye Girl and The Will Rogers Follies and on screen in "Only You" and "What If?"
