News Casting Society of America Presents Artios Awards Today The Casting Society of America (CSA) presents the 31st annual Artios Awards Jan. 21, celebrating excellence in casting for television, theatre, web series and short film. Bernard Telsey, Michelle and Robert King and Danny Boyle are among those being honored.

The Artios Awards are held in bi-coastal ceremonies in Los Angles at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, and in New York at the Hard Rock Café.

Danny Boyle is being honored with the Artios Career Achievement Award "in recognition of his contributions to film and television, and for his longstanding creative collaborations with some of the pre-eminent casting directors working today."

Husband and wife writing duo Michelle and Robert King are taking home the New York Apple Award, "recognizing individuals who have made special contributions to the New York entertainment industry through their collaboration with casting directors."

Casting director Bernard Telsey is receiving the Hoyt Bowers Award, "honoring esteemed casting professionals who have elevated the casting profession by embodying the unique spirit, ideals and creativity of famed casting director, Hoyt Bowers."

The Artios awards are given annually to CSA members for originality, creativity and contribution of casting to the overall quality of a project. They are named for the Greek word meaning "perfectly fitted."

Richard Hicks, president of the Casting Society of America, said in an earlier statement, "We’re thrilled to honor Danny Boyle, Michelle and Robert King, and Bernard Telsey at the 2016 Artios Awards. What’s most impressive with this year’s list of honorees is the sheer scope of their contributions to the entertainment industry. Across film, television and theatre, they’ve shown us that a career full of quality work is possible, with their deep understanding and commitment to the craft of casting."
