The Twentieth Century it’s not.
Catch the first trailer for TBS’ Snowpiercer, featuring Tony Award winners Daveed Diggs and Lena Hall, above. The long-gestating series will premiere on the network (having previously moved from TNT) in spring 2020.
Like the 2013 movie, the series will be set on a massive train, housing by class the sole survivors of an apocalyptic Ice Age. Diggs (Hamilton) will star as Layton Well, a prisoner-turned-revolutionary fighter against the elites who inhabit the front of the train. Hall (Hedwig and the Angry Inch) will play Sayori, a member of the train’s upper management.
The ensemble cast also includes Jennifer Connelly, Broadway alum Kerry O'Malley, Mickey Sumner, Susan Park, Benjamin Haigh, Sasha Frolova, Katie McGuinness, Alison Wright, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, and Sheila Vand.
