The real-life Frank Abagnale Jr. was even on hand to talk about how his story has been turned into a book, movie and now a musical.

The new musical that opened at the Neil Simon Theatre April 10 is based on the life of Abagnale Jr., a young con artist with massive charm, played on stage by Aaron Tveit (Next to Normal).

The musical reunites much of the creative team behind the 2002 Tony Award-winning musical Hairspray. Songwriting duo Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman as well as director Jack O'Brien share some insight into their new musical after the opening-night performance.

The cast also stars Norbert Leo Butz (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Wicked) as FBI Fraud Agent Carl Hanratty, Tom Wopat (Sondheim on Sondheim, Annie Get Your Gun) as Frank Sr., Kerry Butler (Xanadu, Hairspray) as Brenda, Rachel De Benedet (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) as Paula Abagnale, Linda Hart (Hairspray) as Carol Strong and Nick Wyman (Tale of Two Cities) as Roger Strong.
