The revival of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical reached a milestone October 13.

The Broadway revival of Cats celebrated 500 performances at the Neil Simon Theatre October 13.

The show, which opened in summer 2016, is scheduled to play its final performance December 30, 2017. At the time of its closing, it will have played 16 previews and 593 regular performances.

Directed by Trevor Nunn, with choreography by Tony winner Andy Blankenbuehler (based on the original choreography by Gillian Lynne), the first-ever revival of the classic 1982 show opened at the Neil Simon Theatre July 31, 2016.

A national tour is scheduled to launch in January 2018, with an official opening set for the Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. Additional stops on the tour include Chicago, Durham, North Carolina, and Los Angeles.
