The hour-long series, which would star and be executive produced by the former "Seinfeld" actor, will be written by Simon Barry, who is also co-executive producing. Alexander, according to the industry paper, will play a "former TV star who's down on his luck and winds up joining his ex-wife's detective agency. Once there, the character reinvents himself as an investigator with a penchant for disguise."
Best known for his work on the Emmy-winning TV sitcom "Seinfeld," Jason Alexander is also a Broadway veteran. He made his Broadway debut in the original cast of Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along, and he also appeared in The Rink, Broadway Bound, Jerome Robbins' Broadway and The Accomplice. Alexander won a 1989 Tony Award for his work in Jerome Robbins' Broadway, and he also starred opposite Martin Short in the L.A. mounting of Mel Brooks' The Producers. He is the artistic director of Reprise Theatre Company in Los Angeles.
