We are happy to welcome guest celebrity blogger Stephen Kunken, a 2010 Tony nominee for his performance in the recent drama Enron. Kunken, who has also been seen on Broadway in Rock 'n' Roll, Frost/Nixon, Festen and Proof, will blog for Playbill.com all week; his fourth entry follows:
Up early this morning to get the dogs walked before the Tony nominee class photo and luncheon at the Plaza. I'm very excited and with three dogs and a baby I've had to plan my exit strategy carefully. That's not a typo — we have three dogs. Count 'em. 3!!! Albeit together they add up to the paw of a rotweiler, but that's neither here nor there when you are trying to get dressed in a suit and get out the door.
Exhibit A is an 11-year-old fawn pug with three teeth named Oliver. Exhibit B is a 10-year-old black pug named Stella who can eat a tennis ball in under a minute, and Exhibit C is a 3-year-old Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie mix) named Mabel who is as pesky as she is cute. Let me put it this way...she's really cute. Now, pugs do two things exceedingly well, they cuddle and they shed. Morkies do three things very well...cuddle, yip, and attack shoe laces. If I can make it to the Plaza without looking like the wolfman I'll be thoroughly proud of myself.
