Thornton Wilder called the theatre “the greatest of all the arts,” and many have called his play Our Town one of the greatest American plays of all time. 80 years after its premiere on Broadway, the show is performed at least once every night somewhere in the United States, and throughout the world.

In celebration of the show’s 80th birthday, The Wilder Family, Samuel French, and The McCarter Theatre—where Our Town had its very first performance on January 22, 1938—will take to Twitter to discuss the play’s history, it's significance and more. Follow #OurTown80th on January 22 beginning at 4 PM EST to join in.
