News Celebrating the American Musical Benefit Features Sherie Rene Scott, Stephen Flaherty, Joe Iconis, Farah Alvin Celebrating the American Musical, a 90-minute concert benefiting Vermont’s Weston Playhouse Theatre Company, is presented at New World Stages Feb. 28.

The 7:30 PM performance, co-hosted by Weston company members Randy Blair and Marissa McGowan, features Sherie Rene Scott, Stephen Flaherty, Joe Iconis, Farah Alvin, Ally Bonino, Christine Toy Johnson, C. Mingo Long, Marcus Neville, Charleigh E. Parker, Price Waldman, Emily Walton, Sally Wilfert, Jason “SweetTooth” Williams, Michael Winther and Lauren Worsham, among others, performing from The Full Monty, Les Misérables, The Light in the Piazza, Ragtime, Rent, Spelling Bee, Things To Ruin and recent winners of Weston’s New Musical Award: Loving Leo, Pregnancy Pact and Saint-Ex. Appearing in person or by film are Michael Berresse, Kurt Deutsch, Adam Guettel, Betsy King Militello, Polly Pen and Marissa Perry.

New World Stages/Stage 2 is located at 340 West 50th Street. Tickets are $151.50 per person ($100 tax-deductible) and can be reserved at telecharge.com (search New World Stages/Stage 2/“Celebrating the American Musical”) or by calling (212) 239-6200; $51.50 tickets for union members (union card or p/r required) and Weston alumni, and $26.50 student tickets (with valid ID) are available at the New World Stages box office.
