News Celebrating Women Songwriters to Feature Barnett, Mason, Lavin and More The Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs (MAC) and ASCAP will join forces to present an evening Celebrating Women Songwriters Oct. 15 at the Triad Theatre in Manhattan.

Jamie deRoy will host the 6 PM concert, which will feature performances by jazz vocalist Judy Barnett, songwriter Francesca Blumenthal, Luba Mason (Sunset Boulevard, Jekyll & Hyde) and Emmy winner Phoebe Kreutz ("Sesame Street"). Singer-songwriter Christine Lavin will be the evening's special guest. The Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs is an "organization of business people in the cabaret industry, comprising club owners, booking agents, managers, journalists & publicists. Its original intent was 'to heighten the public's awareness of cabaret as an art form,' & to unify & empower the various cabarets around NYC." ASCAP is a membership association of more than "330,000 U.S. composers, songwriters, lyricists, and music publishers of every kind of music."
