News   Celebrating Women Songwriters, with Barnett, Mason and Lavin, Presented Oct. 15 The Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs (MAC) and ASCAP join forces Oct. 15 to present an evening Celebrating Women Songwriters at the Triad Theatre in Manhattan.

Jamie deRoy hosts the 6 PM concert, which features performances by jazz vocalist Judy Barnett, songwriter Francesca Blumenthal, Luba Mason (Sunset Boulevard, Jekyll & Hyde) and Emmy winner Phoebe Kreutz ("Sesame Street"). Singer-songwriter Christine Lavin is the evening's special guest. The Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs is an "organization of business people in the cabaret industry, comprising club owners, booking agents, managers, journalists & publicists. Its original intent was 'to heighten the public's awareness of cabaret as an art form,' and to unify and empower the various cabarets around NYC." ASCAP is a membership association of more than "330,000 U.S. composers, songwriters, lyricists, and music publishers of every kind of music."
