Tony nominees Celia Keenan-Bolger, Kristine Nielsen, and more will lead the cast of a benefit performance of The Triumph of Love. The one-night-only event from Red Bull Theater will take place October 2 at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia at Symphony Space.
Joining Keenan-Bolger and Nielsen will be Arnie Burton, Clifton Duncan, Carson Elrod, and Molly Ranson.
The presentation of Marivaux’s comedy will feature a translation by James Magruder, as well as original music by Greg Pliska performed by the Lumiere String Quartet. Jesse Berger directs.
The Triumph of Love follows a Spartan princess who attempts a triple seduction of her young lover and his two guardians.
Red Bull Theater specializes in showcasing “heightened language plays,” form Shakespearean drama to Russian comedies and contemporary pieces. Their production of The Government Inspector, starring Michael Urie and Mary Testa, recently concluded an encore engagement at Off-Broadway’s New World Stages.

The production will include Bernstein’s incidental music for Lillian Hellman’s adaptation of The Lark, and Menotti’s The Unicorn, The Gorgon, and The Manticore.
Based on the novel and film by Frank Cottrell Boyce, the new musical will reunite Guettel with Tony-winning Light in the Piazza director Bartlett Sher.
