How's this for a mix of styles? A film noirish murder mystery where all the characters are sorrowful and mad but search for the truth -- staged in a way that recalls the dance techniques of Busby Berkeley, Michael Bennett and Bob Fosse. CENSORED!!! [sic], an ensemble work by Off-Off-Broadway's Via Theatre, has just been extended past its April 21 final date to April 27. Inspired by "the moral guidelines and censorship missives of the infamous Hays Office during Hollywood's Golden Age," CENSORED!!! looks at terrorism, heroism, media and popular culture. The show features Will Keenan, Sheryl Dold, Leah Gray, Megan Spooner, Allan Tibbetts and Matthew Mohr (of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company). Also in the cast -- on Monday nights only -- is Kristen Lee Kelly, currently on Broadway in Rent. Kasia Walicka-Maimone designed the costumes for the show, Roma Flowers the lighting.

Via Theatre's previous works include Loved Less (The History Of Hell) and i fell of the mountain and stubbed my toe on the thorny prick of your cold cold heart (or) bashing my head against a brick wall until i can taste blood [sic].

CENSORED!!!, which opened April 2, will offer a special one-night benefit, April 21, at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall. Tickets are $25. (Via Theatre received a grant from Lincoln Center's Community Arts Project).

For tickets ($15) and information on CENSORED!!! at the Ohio Theatre space on Wooster Street, call (212) 388-2976.
