"The tension and desperation of three hapless hopefuls struggling to get ahead at any cost" will be explored in David Mamet's American Buffalo, which will be seen at the Maryland venue beginning Dec. 2.

The new year will launch with the world-premiere staging of Jazz, based on Toni Morrison’s novel. Adapted and directed by longtime Centerstage associate artist Marion McClinton, performances are scheduled for Jan. 4-Feb. 5, 2012.

Martin McDonagh's A Skull in Connemara, directed by BJ Jones, artistic director of Chicago’s Northlight Theatre and veteran of numerous other McDonagh productions, will run Jan. 25-March 4.

A 25th-anniversary revival of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Into the Woods, directed by Mark Lamos, will follow, beginning performances March 7. The award-winning musical will be a co-production with Westport Country Playhouse, where Lamos serves as artistic director.

A final production will be announced at a later date.
