News Cerveris to Sing at Joe's Pub During Second Act of Lear Feb. 14 Michael Cerveris, now starring in King Lear at the Public Theater, will run downstairs to Joe's Pub during the second act of the play's Feb. 14 evening performance to sing in the 9:30 PM showing of The Losers Lounge Valentines Day Tribute to Classic Pop Duets.

Cerveris plays Kent in James Lapine's production of the William Shakespeare play in the Public's Anspacher Theater, opposite Kevin Kline in the title role, and has some down time in the second act. He will also perform after the play in the 11:30 PM Losers Lounge show. According to The Losers Lounge website, the show will include "classic couplings from the 60s, 70s and 80s," including "songs performed by Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot, Johnny Cash and June Carter, Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra, David Bowie and Freddie Mercury, Kermit the Frog and Fozzy Bear, and many more." Songs will include "I Got You Babe," "Islands in the Stream," "Jackson" and "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart." Arrangements are by Joe McGinty.

Cerveris has previously performed in The Losers Lounge, a cabaret series founded over a decade ago.
