News Chalfant, McLaughlin and Blount Part of Driving to the Interior Reading A one-night-only staged reading of Vickie Karp's Driving to the Interior will be held Oct. 18 at the Cherry Lane Theatre.

Kathleen Chalfant, Ellen McLaughlin and Roy Blount, Jr. will take part in the reading of the play, which concerns the friendship between two American writers, Elizabeth Bishop and Marianne Moore. Show time is 7:30 PM. Driving to the Interior, according to production notes, "weaves together the intrigues, challenges, gossip, camaraderie and beauty of two of America's great writers in their own published words." Edie Cowan directs with lighting design by Natasha Katz.

Sponsored by The Tomorrow Foundation, the reading is presented by the Cherry Lane Theatre in association with The League of Professional Theatre Women. Producers are Joan Firestone and White Box Productions.
