News Chalfant, Spinella, Emond, Oglesby and More Cast in Guthrie's Kushner Celebration Casting for the three productions that will be part of the Guthrie Theater's Tony Kushner Celebration — to be seen at the Minnesota venue April-June 2009 — was announced March 1 by Guthrie artistic director Joe Dowling.

Marcela Lorca will direct the acclaimed musical Caroline, or Change, which kicks off the Celebration April 18 on the Wurtele Thrust Stage. Jefferson Award winner Greta Oglesby will head the cast as Caroline Thibodeaux. She will be joined onstage by Michelle Barber, Jamecia Bennett, Felicia R. Boswell, Aimee K. Bryant, Nikki Renee Daniels, Lynnea Doublette, Bradley Greenwald, Kenny Morris, T. Mychael Rambo, Julie Reiber, Peter Thomson, Aurelia Williams and Regina Marie Williams. Children in the cast include Noah Coon, Jake Ingbar, Julius Andrews IV, Zadir King, Versell Ford IV and Jackson M. Hurst. Rent's Michael Greif will direct the world premiere of The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide to Capitalism and Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures, which begins previews May 9 on the McGuire Proscenium Stage with an official opening scheduled for May 15. The cast will feature Kathleen Chalfant, Linda Emond, Stephen Spinella and Ron Menzel.

Berkeley Rep artistic director Tony Taccone will helm tinyKUSHNER, a collection of Kushner's short plays. A cast of four Guthrie favorites – J.C. Cutler, Kate Eifrig, Jim Lichtscheidl and Valeri Mudek – will perform multiple roles. Previews begin May 16 in the Dowling Studio.
