Charlie Pollock returns to Broadway in the musical adaptation of Pretty Woman. The actor takes on the role of Philip Stuckey beginning June 11, replacing original cast member Jason Danieley. The show, featuring a score by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance and a book by J.F. Lawton and the late Garry Marshall, continues its run at the Nederlander Theatre.
Pollock has appeared on Broadway in Violet, Urinetown, and 9 to 5. His additional New York stage credits include Off-Broadway's Lazarus, The Wild Party and Really Rosie with New York City Center Encores!, and the Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park musical adaptation of Love's Labour's Lost.
He'll join a cast the includes Samantha Barks as Vivian, Andy Karl as Edward, Orfeh as Kit, Eric Anderson as Mr. Thompson, and Kingsley Leggs as James Morse. As previously reported, current understudy Jillian Mueller and Rent alum Brennin Hunt will replace Barks and Karl in July.
The Jerry Mitchell–directed musical, based on the 1990 romantic comedy, is also slated to launch a national tour in 2020.
