News Chautauqua Theater Company's Twentieth-Century The Comedy of Errors, Set in a Circus, Begins Performances Aug. 9 Chautauqua Theater Company presents Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors beginning Aug. 9.

The production will run through Aug. 16 on the Bratton Theater Mainstage. 

Directed by CTC associate artistic director Andrew Borba, the cast includes John Seidman (Aegeon, a merchant of Syracuse), Joel de la Fuente (Dr. Pinch/Duke of Ephesus), Ryan Williams French (Antipholus of Syracuse), Anthony Goes (Antipholus of Ephesus), Jacob Dresch (Dromio of Syracuse), Mary Wiseman (Dromio of Ephesus), Jess Milewicz (Adriana), Mallory Portnoy (Luciana), Stephen Spencer (Balthazar/Gargantua), Peter Mark Kendall (Nell/Duke's Attendant/Messenger), Landon Woodson (Angelo), Matthew Raich (Jailer), Brian Smolin (Flauvius/Messenger/Frigo Jones/Pinch's Assistant), Arielle Goldman (Lina/Katie O'Malley), Carly Zien (Sofia) and Tangela Large (Aemilia/Avkadonika Jones/Pinch's Assistant).

"This Comedy of Errors is set amidst a circus midway in the early twentieth century, where not one, but two sets of identical twins, separated at birth, find themselves in the midst of a crazy, fast-paced, bewildering day," press notes state. "Shakespeare's shortest and silliest comedy is perfect fare for the whole family and promises to feature a circus of surprises."

The creative team includes Tom Buderwitz (sets), Angela Calin (costumes), Charlie Morrison (lighting) and Steven Cahill (sound). Jenny Kennedy is production stage manager.
