Take a look above at higlights from the Muny's current production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. The comedy, featuring a score by Stephen Sondheim and a book by Larry Gelbart and Burt Shevelove, runs July 5–11 at the outdoor venue in St. Louis.
The production, directed by Gary Griffin, stars Broadway alum Jeffrey Schecter (Fiddler on the Roof) as Pseudolus; he steps in for the previously announced Peter Scolari. The cast also includes Tony nominee John Tartaglia as Hysterium, current The Phantom of the Opera star Ali Ewoldt as Philia, Mark Linn-Baker as Senex, and Marrick Smith as Hero.
Rounding out the company are E. Faye Butler, Jason Kravits, Nathaniel Hackmann, Whit Reichert, Marcus Choi, Justin Keyes, Tommy Scrivens, Justina Aveyard, Molly Callinan, Emily Hsu, Khori Michelle Petinaud, Katelyn Prominski, and Lainie Sakakura.
The Muny's 99th season kicked off earlier this summer with Jesus Christ Superstar; The Little Mermaid followed. After A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, the theatre will present All Shook Up, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, A Chorus Line, and Newsies.
