Neil Patrick Harris has chosen Nicole Scherzinger as his sidekick for his new hour-long TV variety show, "Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris," which will premiere Sept. 15 on NBC.

Scherzinger will assist the Tony-winning actor (Hedwig and the Angry Inch) in a variety of segments including the karaoke-based game "Singalong Live," where home viewers have a chance to participate in the live broadcast. She'll also assist in mini-game shows, competitions and contribute to the "high-fueled and heart-stopping" "End of The Show" show.

As previously announced, the show will also feature child actor Nathaniel Motulsky as "Little NPH," who will fill in for Harris on camera when he is too busy to leave the studio. "Little NPH" will frequently appear on the program, conducting interviews with celebrities and completing assignments.

Based on the U.K. series "Saturday Night Takeaway," "Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris" is set to premiere Sept. 15 at 10 PM on NBC. The show will air Tuesday nights at 10 PM following "The Voice." Starting Oct. 13, however, "Best Time" will move to 8 PM and serve as the lead-in to "The Voice." It is scheduled to wrap up its first round of new episodes in November.

Harris won the 2014 Best Actor in a Musical Tony Award for his performance in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. He has performed on Broadway in Assassins, as well as Cabaret and Proof, and in the New York Philharmonic production of Company.

Harris, who has emceed the Tony Awards four times and the Emmys twice, made his Oscars hosting debut Feb. 22, 2015. He has been honored with four Emmy Awards: three for his acclaimed hosting of the Tony Awards and another for his guest-starring role on "Glee."
