News Check Out Sneak-Peek Clips of Lion King Being Featured on CBS-TV's "Code Black" Today (Video) Cast members from the Broadway and touring productions of The Lion King are featured on the Nov. 25 episode of the CBS-TV medical drama "Code Black."

For the episode titled "The Son Rises," writers for the series, which airs at 10 PM ET, created a storyline in which the actor playing Mufasa in the national tour arrives in the emergency room with a severe throat infection, according to the Associated Press. His fellow cast members, drawn from actors appearing in the real-life national tour, come to his bedside to help him pull through. They perform part of the song "He Lives in You" from the Elton John score.

Mufasa is portrayed by Alton Fitzgerald White, who played Mufasa in the Broadway production for more than 4,000 performances. The episode was shot in Los Angeles in mid-October.

"Code Black" stars Tony Award winner Marcia Gay Harden (God of Carnage).
