NBC has released a promo trailer for its new theatre-focused drama Rise. The series is based on the true story of a high school drama teacher, played by stage and screen actor Josh Radnor, who sets out to reinvigorate his school’s theatre program.
See Radnor, breakout Moana star Auli'i Cravalho, Rosie Perez, and others in the trailer above. As previously announced, Rise will premiere March 13, 2018 at 10 PM, following This Is Us.
The cast also includes Broadway alums Perez, Joe Tippett, Sean Grandillo, and Billy Joe Kiessling, Marley Shelton, Newsies alum Damon J. Gillespie, and Tony nominee Stephanie J. Block.
In Rise, drama teacher Lou Mazzuchelli is determined to help his students find a sense of identity and purpose. He chooses Spring Awakening as the year’s big production, sparking controversy in the process.
