In a new video from The Band's Visit, composer David Yazbek explains the story behind one of the show’s funniest songs, “Welcome to Nowhere.” Watch it above.
The Band's Visit arrived on Broadway in October 2017 following an acclaimed and sold-out world premiere at Atlantic Theater Company in 2016. The production is currently playing the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, where it officially opened to rave reviews November 9.

Based on the screenplay by Eran Kolirin, The Band's Visit follows the story of an Egyptian police band, who, after a mixup at the border, find themselves in a remote village in the middle of the Israeli desert. The musical features a book by Drama Desk Award nominee Itamar Moses and music and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Yazbek.
The original cast recording is currently available for purchase online, in stores, and at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre.
