News Chenoweth, O'Hara and Company Salute Featured on New "Mitzi Gaynor" DVD A new DVD spotlighting the television work of Mitzi Gaynor — the singer-dancer-actress nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her work as Nellie Forbush in the film of "South Pacific" — will be released this fall.

Entitled "Mitzi Gaynor Razzle Dazzle!: The Special Years," the DVD will be released Nov. 18 by City Lights Home Entertainment. The recording features footage from Gaynor's television specials, which aired from 1968-1978 and have been unseen for three decades.

The DVD also includes new interviews with costume designer Bob Mackie, Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth, director/choreographer Tony Charmoli, dancers Alton Ruff and Randy Doney, Emmy-winning comedy legend Carl Reiner, best-selling author and critic Rex Reed and Tony nominee Kelli O'Hara, who currently stars in the Broadway revival of South Pacific.

The recording also boasts the following special features:

  • Eight extended musical performances.
  • "Mitzi and [Bob] Mackie: Look Back in Fashion!" featurette
  • "Uncensored and Unseen": Mitzi's Egyptian Dance
  • Mitzi is "The Kid": two full-length performances
  • Mitzi and Friends Salute Sondheim's "Company"
  • "Mitzi & George Hamilton at the Movies": full-length comedy sequence from Gaynor's 1968 special
  • Razzle Dazzle Photo Gallery
  • Mitzi and Bruce Vilanch Live in San Francisco 2008 "Mitzi Gaynor – Razzle Dazzle! The Special Years" will be syndicated nationally to public television stations this fall, although the DVD release will feature over 60 minutes of DVD "extras" not seen in the public television version.
