Seeing the personal side of the Protestant/Catholic Irish war is the premise of Remembrance, Famous Door's latest show at Chicago's Theatre Building, which previewed Jan. 8-14, for a Jan. 15-Feb. 21, 1999 run.
An older Irish couple (he Protestant, she Catholic) meet and fall in love at the gravesites of their respective sons, both killed in the British/Irish conflict. Graham Reid's comedy/drama was originally commissioned and produced by Belfast's Lyric Theatre in 1984 and had its American debut at New York's Irish Arts Center in 1990.
The cast for the show is Famous Door's ensemble of Mike Nussbaum (OB's Mr. Gogol and Mr. Preen), Mary Ann Thebus, Hannah Dworkin, Laura Fisher, Patrick New and Elaine Rivkin.
The Famous Door Theatre's Remembrance plays at the Theatre Bulding in Chicago, opening Jan. 15 for a run through Feb. 21 1999. For tickets or more information, call (773) 327-5252.
