Directed by Drury Lane artistic director William Osetek, performances will continue through Oct. 6.

McMonagle (Les Misérables, first national tours of Billy Elliot and Mamma Mia!) will be joined by Jeff Award winner Rod Thomas (Big at Drury Lane Theatre, Little Shop of Horrors at Theatre at the Center) as Dan, Skyler Adams (Hair at The Paramount Theatre, The Adventures of Pinocchio at Chicago Shakespeare) as Henry, Callie Johnson (Saloon at Peninsula Players, Porchlight Music Theatre's Pal Joey) as Natalie, Colte Julian (Million Dollar Quartet at the Apollo Theater) as Dr. Fine/Madden and Josh Tolle as Gabe.

Here's how Drury Lane describes the musical, featuring a book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt: "The riveting story is an unconscious dissection of a 'normal' suburban American family. Driven by a provocative score featuring more than 30 original pop/rock songs, the narrative digs into the household’s foundation, unearthing skeletons of the past. This is a musical that asks the question: Can the seemingly perfect family survive an insurmountable event and tender the untenable? Next to Normal is one family's unflinching, authentic and ultimately hopeful journey through the trials and tribulations of modern life."

Other members of the creative team include music director Ben Johnson, choreographer Tammy Mader, scenic designer Scott Davis, lighting designer Heather Gilbert, costume designer Sally Dolembo, prop designer Nick Haggestad and sound designeer Ray Nardelli.

The Drury Lane Theatre is located at 100 Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. For more information and tickets, call (630) 530-0111 or visit DruryLane.com.
