The stage and film director and choreographer will join his sister, director-choreographer Kathleen Marshall; Grease creator Jim Jacobs; and British producer David Ian on the judges panel of the reality competition series. The live episode airs at 8 PM ET. Check local listings.
The results of America's voting will be revealed, and a Danny hopeful will be cut. The remaining six finalists will perform duets. The March 18 episode will cut down the pool to the four finalists who will go on to the season finale slated for March 25.
Before Marshall's film success ("Chicago," "Memoirs of a Geisha"), he served as the choreographer on Broadway's Kiss of the Spider Woman and the revivals of Damn Yankees, She Loves Me, Cabaret and Little Me. His previous television work includes the recent concert special "Tony Bennett: An American Classic," 1999's Annie, the 2001 Kennedy Center Honors and choreography on "Victor/Victoria," "Mrs. Santa Claus" and "Cinderella."
"Access Hollywood" co-anchor Billy Bush and U.K. television and theatre star Denise Van Outen host the show. Paul Nicholas and David Ian Associates, Nederlander Presentations and Phoenix Productions will produce the Broadway run of the show, which begins rehearsals on or about April 1. The capitalization is $10 million.
The new Broadway production will feature the Jim Jacobs-Warren Casey songs made famous by the original musical — including "Summer Nights," "Greased Lightning" and "We Go Together" — as well as the four additional film songs: "Grease is the Word," "You're the One That I Want," "Hopelessly Devoted to You" and "Sandy" interpolated into the score.
Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster outlets. Group sales for Grease are available by calling Nederlander Group Sales at (212) 840-3890.
