Regional News Chicago Theatre Week Returns for Fifth Consecutive Year More than 100 productions are taking part in the annual discount-ticket event.
The fifth annual Chicago Theatre Week, which runs February 9-19, celebrates the ever-growing Chicago theatre scene.

Presented by the League of Chicago Theatres in partnership with Choose Chicago, the event will give visitors and residents the opportunity to choose from more than 100 productions and sample the wide range of theatrical offerings in Chicago. The annual event, which offers tickets for $15 and $30, attracted nearly 11,000 visitors from approximately 40 states last year.

Deb Clapp, who is the executive director of the League of Chicago Theatres, told the dailyherald.com, “People are buying tickets for theatres they've never been to before…They're trying something new, which is exactly what we want.”

Participating Chicago venues include Steppenwolf, Chicago Shakespeare, Goodman, Black Ensemble, Broadway in Chicago, and many more. Among participating suburban theatres are Buffalo Theatre Ensemble, Citadel Theatre, Drury Lane Theatre, First Folio Theatre, Marriott Theatre, Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, Northlight Theatre, Paramount Theatre, and Williams Street Repertory.
