The "Roxie" national touring company of Chicago will go on an eight-week hiatus Aug. 15 and regroup in October in a schedule to be announced, but not before Hal Linden joins the troupe in Hartford, CT Aug. 6-8.

After playing Hartford's Bushnell, the company moves to the Fox Theatre in St. Louis Aug. 10-15.

A booking in Columbus Oct. 12-17 has been postponed, but a Nashville date Jan. 18-23, 2000, is expected to happen. Dates beginning in mid-to late October will be announced soon, a tour spokesperson said.

After Linden (TV's "Barney Miller," Broadway's The Rothschilds) gets his feet wet in the role of Billy Flynn on the road, he'll head to the Las Vegas production of the hit musical revival in late August.

Sandy Duncan is currently with the Roxie tour in Tulsa, OK, boning up for a move to the Broadway company (as Roxie) Aug. 12. The other national company, known as the "Velma," is a sitdown in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Resort.
