News Chicago's Amra-Faye Wright to Make New York Cabaret Debut Amra-Faye Wright, recently seen as Velma Kelly in the Broadway production of Chicago, will go it solo next month at the Metropolitan Room in Manhattan.

The South African actress will play the intimate nightspot Dec. 27 at 9:30 PM, Dec. 29 at 9:30 PM and 11 PM and Dec. 30 at 11 PM.

Mark Hummel is the musical director.

In addition to the New York, London and South African companies of Chicago, Amra-Faye Wright's other theatrical credits include Vi Moore in Footloose (U.K. tour), Sandy in Grease (Johannesburg Superbowl) and Sheila in A Chorus Line (Civic Theatre, Johannesburg).
