Brent Barrett, currently starring as oily legal eagle Billy Flynn in Broadway's Chicago, will make his recording debut on Aug. 3, when his first album, "The Kander and Ebb Album," is released on Varese Sarabande.
As the titles indicates, the album is given over to the work of John Kander and Fred Ebb, the authors of the musicals Cabaret, Woman of the Year, Chicago and others. Among the featured songs are "Give Me Love" from Kiss of the Spider Woman, "Life Is" from Zorba and "All That Jazz" and "All I Care About Is Love" (which Barrett sings nightly at Broadway's Shubert Theatre) from Chicago.
The recording also features duets with Jane Krakowski and Barrett's Chicago co-star Ruthie Henshall. Bruce Kimmel produces.
