News Chicago's Lewis and Hairspray's Bean to Sing Lowdermilk's Songs at Free Concert A free concert featuring the songs of composer-lyricist Brian Lowdermilk will be held at Manhattan's Donnell Library Theatre Feb. 24.

Part of the Arts and Artists at St. Paul's Songbook Series, the 6 PM concert will boast the talents of Big River's Michael Arden, Hairspray's Shoshana Bean, Marie Christine's Darius de Haas, Chicago's Norm Lewis, Parade's Randy Redd, Victor/Victoria's Anne Runolfsson and Cabaret's Kate Shindle. Also on the roster are singers Sara Chase, Autumn Hurlbert, Lucas Steele, Mary Tucker and NaTasha Yvette Williams.

The evening, which will include selections from Brian Lowdermilk's six musicals, is being produced, directed and hosted by John Znidarsic. An undergraduate at New York University, Lowdermilk, received the 2003 Alan Menken Award. His musicals include The Wheel and Red.
