In addition to staging the Mel Brooks-Thomas Meehan smash and the Louisa May Alcott-inspired musical, by Allan Knee, Mindi Dickstein and Jason Howland, the resident Equity troupe — the nation's most-subscribed theatre — will present the musical Shenandoah (April 25-July 1, 2007) and the marriage-related musical comedy Married Alive! (July 5-Sept. 16, 2007) by Chicago native Sean Grennan (book and lyrics) and Leah Okimoto (music).
Grease will open the 2007 season Feb. 14-April 22. Marc Robin will choreograph and direct.
Shenandoah will be directed and choreographed by David H. Bell.
Married Alive! had its world premiere at American Heartland Theatre in Kansas City in 2006-07. The show is centered on two marriages—newlyweds and a more experienced couple. Victoria Bussert will direct the Chicago run.
The Producers (directed and choreographed by Marc Robin) will preview Sept. 19, 2007, and run to Dec. 9. Little Women (directed by Dominic Missimi) will play starting in the 2007 holiday season, Dec. 12, into February 2008. *
