The Children's Literature Association named Charlotte's Web as "the best American children's book of the past two hundred years." It tells the story of Fern, a young girl who happens to understand what animals say to each other. She adopts a little pig named Wilbur. Once Wilbur has grown, though, he is scheduled to be sent to the butcher -- until Charlotte and her animal friends intervene to try and save him.

Named "Outstanding Children's Theatre" in 1989 by the American Alliance for Theatre and Education, the Playhouse's youth theatre mounts fully professional productions which involve many of the students from the Playhouse's training programs.

The Playhouse is located at 606 Laguna Canyon Road. For tickets and information call (949) 497-2787 or visit www.lagunaplayhouse.com
