News Chitty Tour Cancels Chicago Engagement The Chicago engagement of the national tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which had been scheduled to play The Chicago Theatre Feb. 11-15, has been canceled.

The tour's official website states that the engagement was canceled "due to slower than expected local ticket sales."

Tickets ordered through Ticketmaster (by phone or on-line) will be credited to the purchaser's credit card account. Tickets purchased through Ticketmaster outlets or through The Chicago Theatre's box office must be returned to the original point of purchase.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang features music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman. Jeremy Sams adapted the show for the London and Broadway stage. The tour features a script adapted by Ray Roderick, who also directs.

The production also features set and costume designs by Anthony Ward with additional set designs by Robert Bissinger, lighting designs by Charlie Morrison and choreography by Joanne Hunter.
