News Chris Jackson, Willie Reale, Martin Short Among Daytime Emmy Nominees Theatre people including Chris Jackson, Bill Sherman, Michael Park, Willie Reale, Martin Short and Brian Kerwin are among the 2011 Daytime Emmy Award nominees, which were announced May 11.

In the Heights original cast member Jackson and Tony-winning In the Heights orchestrator Sherman are nominated for Outstanding Original Song for "What I Am" ("Sesame Street"); Jackson also earned a nomination in the same category for his song "Rakhi Road" ("Sesame Street"); as did Cry-Baby Tony nominee Adam Schlesinger for “I Wonder" ("Sesame Street") co-authored with Molly Boylan.

Among the actors with theatre ties who received nominations are Park ("As the World Turns") for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series; Kerwin ("One Life To Live") for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series; and Short ("The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!") for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program.

"The Electric Company," which counts Tony and Academy Award nominee Willie Reale (Broadway's A Year With Frog and Toad) among its producers, is nominated for Outstanding Children's Series; while the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was nominated for Outstanding Special Class Special.
