News Chris Noth Sells His Soul to the Devil in Doctor Faustus, Opening Tonight The Off-Broadway Classic Stage Company production of Doctor Faustus with "Sex and the City" and "The Good Wife" star Chris Noth officially opens June 18, following previews that began June 2. With an extension recently announced, the show, helmed by Cherry Orchard director Andrei Belgrader, will now play through July 12.

In Doctor Faustus, adapted by David Bridel and Andrei Belgrader from the play by Christopher Marlowe, Noth plays a German doctor who sells his soul to the devil in exchange for power and knowledge.

Noth is joined by a cast that includes Tony Award nominee and “The Good Wife” co-star Zach Grenier as Mephistopheles, Jeffrey Binder, Ken Cheeseman, Carmen M. Herlihy, Walker Jones, Marina Lazzaretto, Geoffrey Owens and Lucas Caleb Rooney.

Scenic design is by Tony Straiges, with lighting design by Jason Lyons, costume design by Rita Ryack and Martin Schnellinger and sound design and original music by Fabian Obispo.

Classic Stage Company is an award-winning Off-Broadway theatre dedicated to re-imagining classic works for contemporary theatregoers.
