News   Christie Is The Unexpected Guest for Alley's Summer Chills Series
Agatha Christie's The Unexpected Guest will make a return to the Alley Stage as its annual Summer Chills production.

Summer Chills offers Houston theatergoers the opportunity to catch an Alley production for less, with tickets priced $21-$39. The Unexpected Guest, running July 11-Aug. 3, will be the Alley's only Summer Chills dramatic offering.

"In dense fog near the South Welsh coastline, a stranger runs his car into a ditch and arrives at a nearby house," explain press notes. "Inside, he finds the murdered body of a former big-game hunter. The dead man's wife is near the body with a gun in her hand. Is she guilty or is she protecting someone?"

Alley associate director James Black will stage the popular mystery that previously played the Alley Summer Chills line-up in 1997. Casting and creative duties will be announced at a later date.

Tickets for The Unexpected Guest begin sale to Alley subscribers April 18 and go on sale to the general public May 2. For more information visit or call (713) 220-5700.

The Alley Theatre is located at 615 Texas Avenue in Houston, TX.
