Singer, actor, and master impressionist Christina Bianco (4’ 11”) takes center stage with pianist Brad Simmons (6’ 2”) at New York’s Birdland in a September 4 concert show, aptly titled The Long & Short of It.

They are returning to the jazz club where Bianco has performed several sold-out solo shows, with “a selection of well-loved pop, Broadway and American standards, impressions, and witty repartee.” The show also includes a sneak peek of material from Bianco’s upcoming solo symphonic debut concert, An Evening With Christina Bianco—The Woman of a Thousand Voices, at which Simmons will again be her accompanist.

Bianco told Playbill she will perform the songs, “We Got Tonight,” “Guilty,” “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” “Shed a Little Light,” a number of her distinctive “Unlikely Interpretations,” including “Edith Piaf singing Abba,” and an all new celebrity diva rendition of “Let It Go”—the song that was became a (more than 6 million views on YouTube) for Bianco and Simmons after the last time they played Birdland together.

She said, “When I’ve played Birdland in the past, I’ve always tried to include as many genres of music as possible. Now, it’s a thrill to up that a notch and really branch out with Brad. In pairing Brad’s love of dramatic rock ’n’ roll with my love of traditional Broadway and comedy, we’ve come up with something very unique and ridiculously fun to perform.”

Bianco was featured in the Off-Broadway parody revue Forbidden Broadway Goes To Rehab (for which she received a Drama Desk Award nomination). She recently co-starred Off-Broadway in The Marvelous Wonderettes. Other New York credits include the multi-character solo show Application Pending (Drama Desk Award nomination), Newsical the Musical, and Tony n’ Tina's Wedding. She originated the role of Dora in the national tour our of Dora The Explorer Live, including a run at Radio City Music Hall.

Birdland is located at 315 West 44th Street in Manhattan. There is a $30 cover and $10 food/drink minimum per person. Tickets can be ordered at BirdlandJazz.com.
