News Christina Haag Will Headline World Premiere of Sharyn Rothstein's The Invested Off-Broadway Christina Haag, author of the New York Times bestselling memoir "Come to the Edge," will star in Sharyn Rothstein’s new play, The Invested, when it makes its world premiere Off-Broadway Sept. 12, prior to an official opening Sept. 14, at the 4th Street Theatre.

Directed by Ron Canada, the The Invested will play a limited engagement through Sept. 24 and also features Michael Daniel Anderson, Bill Cwikowski, Judith Hawkins, Thomas Hildreth and Turna Mete.

In the new play, according to the producers, "Catherine Murdoch (Haag) is the head of wealth management at MetroBank — one of the largest and most powerful banks in the world — where she was just passed over for CEO. When the corruption of the new CEO threatens her world and her values, Murdoch must decide where her loyalties will lie — does she follow her ambitions or does she follow her conscience? Drawn from the financial crisis of 2008, The Invested shows the rivalries, betrayals and alliances that could bring the world to the brink of economic disaster."

Other members of the creative team include scenic designer Lauren Helpern, costume designer Emily DeAngelis, lighting designer Traci Klainer Polimeni, sound designer Toby Algya and projection designer Pam Traynor.

Haag won a Dramalogue Award for her portrayal of Desdemona in Othello at the Old Globe and starred in the West Coast premieres of Proof and Amy's View at South Coast Rep. She has appeared in the films "Shaking the Tree" and "A Matter of Degrees" and has also starred opposite Jane Alexander and Christopher Plummer in "A Marriage: Georgia O'Keeffe and Alfred Stieglitz" for PBS. Her recent memoir, "Come to the Edge," chronicles her long friendship and romance with John F. Kennedy, Jr.

The Invested is produced Off-Broadway by Madeline Austin, S.D. Wagner and Carrie Schoenfeld. Show times will be Mondays-Saturdays at 7:30 PM with 3 PM matinees Sept. 16, Sept. 18 and Sept. 24. There will be no performances Sept. 15 and Sept. 20.
