News Christine Baranski to Play Cleopatra for the Public Theater's Forum Series Tony winner Christine Baranski is among the line-up of celebrities planned for the Public Theater's Public Forum Series, now in its sixth year. The series of one-night-only performances and conversations with leading voices in the arts, politics and media, explore dramatic literature, connecting it to our contemporary lives.

The season kicks off with the return of the Drama Club series on Sept. 21 at Joe's Pub. The evening will feature a reading of Clifford Odet's Waiting For Lefty, with a cast that includes the Public's artistic director Oskar Eustis, El Teatro Campesino founder Luis Valdez, labor lawyer Tom Geoghegan, author and New Yorker contributor George Packer, actors Adam Green and Miriam Silverman and more.

On Oct. 5 the Forum will celebrate Drama Club: Lorca in New York, a reading of excerpts from poet Federico García Lorca's classic work, "Poet in New York" translated by Nilo Cruz. The cast will feature Saeed Jones, BuzzFeed's Literary Editor and author of the award-winning poetry collection "Prelude to Bruise".

In November "Into the Woods" star and Broadway actress Christine Baranski will be among the cast of Drama Club: An Evening with Cleopatra, an exploration of modern women in power via dramatic depictions of the famous Egyptian queen-goddess.

The season concludes with Public Forum's holiday tradition, Drama Club: The Long Christmas Dinner on Dec. 7.
