News Christmas Carol Sequel and Girl Group Musical to Go Up in Queens Nov. 30-Dec 10 Queens Theatre in the Park will present two original musicals from Nov. 30-Dec. 10 — Tim and Scrooge, a sequel to A Christmas Carol that takes place 14 years later; and Shangri La, which features girl group songs of 1960s.

Cast members for the productions include Dorothy Stanley, Bobby Steggert, William McCauley, Jessica Grove, James Judy, Jessica Scholl, Heather Lind and Jennifer Weingarten. Tim and Scrooge, which previously went up at the New York Musical Theatre Festival in 2004, will play the venue's main stage. It has music by Neil Berg (composer of the in-development stage musical version of the film "Grumpy Old Men") and lyrics and book by Nick Meglin (former co-editor of Mad magazine). The director is Nick Corley, a cast member of Broadway’s Mary Poppins, and the choreographer is Jennifer Paulson Lee.

Shangri La, which runs on the smaller stage, has a book by the Queens Theatre's director of new play development, Rob Urbinati. His work has been presented at the Culture Project, the Hudson Guild Theatre and The Acting Company. Michael Goldfried directs.
