The first new production of this year's Travelex £12 Tickets season is directed by Polly Findlay. According to press materials, the play revolves around Creon (Eccleston) who, desperate to gain control over a city ravaged by civil war, refuses to bury the body of Antigone's rebellious brother. Outraged, she defies his edict, and Creon condemns the young woman, his niece, to be buried alive.

Eccleston's previous theatre credits include A Doll’s House (Donmar Warehouse), the title role in Hamlet (West Yorkshire Playhouse), Miss Julie (Theatre Royal, Haymarket), and Bent and Abingdon Square (National Theatre).  His film credits include "G.I. Joe," "The Dark is Rising," "28 Days Later," "Elizabeth," "Jude," "Shallow Grave" and "Let Him Have It." TV credits include the Doctor in "Doctor Who," "Accused" (winning the international Emmy for Best Performance by an Actor) and "Flesh and Blood" (RTS Best Actor Award).
