Christopher Fitzgerald and Jeremy Shamos To Revive Gutenberg! The Musical!

News   Christopher Fitzgerald and Jeremy Shamos To Revive Gutenberg! The Musical!

Tony nominees Christopher Fitzgerald and Jeremy Shamos will reprise their roles as Bud and Doug in a one-night-only reunion concert of Gutenberg! The Musical! at Feinstein's/54 Below on Feb. 1.

The comedy, about two starry-eyed musical theatre hopefuls trying to produce their dream show, ran Off-Broadway in 2007 and was nominated for a Drama Desk Award.

Shamos is currently appearing on Broadway in Noises Off. Fitzgerald is scheduled to return to Broadway this spring in Waitress.

Here's how the show is billed: "After a brief nine-year sabbatical spent working at Dunkin Donuts and Tim Hortons (respectively), Bud and Doug are BACK with their sure-to-be-a-hit show Gutenberg! The Musical! And this time, these two dreamers are taking it all the way to BROADWAY! All they need is a producer. Oh, and a cast. Also a set. Definitely a director. And anywhere from 15 to 35 million dollars — how much does it cost to rent live animals? Point is: THEY’RE SO CLOSE!"

Produced by Shoshana Feinstein, the concert will feature music direction and arrangements by T.O. Sterrett.

Tickets are priced from $35; to purchase and for more information, visit 54Below.com
