Broadway News Christy Altomare, Christine Baranski, Nathan Lane, Chita Rivera, and More to Celebrate Terrence McNally at 92Y The Tony Award-winning playwright is the subject of the new documentary Every Act of Life, which will be screened alongside live performances from artists who originated his roles.

Chita Rivera, Nathan Lane, and Christine Baranski are among the Tony Award-winning artists who will honor playwright Terrence McNally October 21 at the 92Y. McNally, who celebrates his 80th birthday November 1, is the subject of the new documentary film Every Act of Life, which will be available on streaming platforms November 6.

The October 21 event at the 92Y will begin at 7:30 PM with a screening of the 93-minute documentary, followed by a panel discussion and performances featuring a lineup of actors who created roles in McNally’s award-winning works.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Dramatists Guild are co-presenters of the evening. BC/EFA’s Tom Viola will moderate.

In addition to Rivera (The Rink, Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Visit), Lane (Lips Together, Teeth Apart; Love! Valour! Compassion!; It’s Only a Play), and Baranski (Lips Together, Teeth Apart), the lineup will feature fellow McNally orginators F. Murray Abraham (Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune) and Christy Altomare (Anastasia).

The evening will feature performances from Lane and Baranski in Lips Together, Teeth Apart; Abraham in Frankie and Johnny; and Altomare, performing “Journey to the Past”. They will be joined by Michael Urie, Michael Benjamin Washington, Nick Blaemire, and Justin Quackenbush for a scene from Love! Valour! Compassion!.
