Full casting has also been announced to include Kim Medcalf, Harriet Thorpe, Michael McKell and David Burt in principal roles, in a company that also comprises Rachel Stanely, Alexis Owen Hobbs, Samuel Holmes, Peter Martin, Lucy Anderson, Jessica Buckby, Cara Elston, Charlene Ford, Jo Goodwin, Amy Griffiths, Harry Morrison, James O’Connell, Carl Sanderson, Phil Snowden, Stephen Whitson, Richard Jones, Josh Lacey and Jo Morris.
The production is directed by Open Air artistic director Timothy Sheader, with choreography by Stephen Mear, designs by Peter McIntosh and musical direction by Gareth Valentine.
Palmer has appeared in the original Broadway companies of Fosse, Saturday Night Fever, The Apple Tree and The Little Mermaid. He has also appeared as Standford Blatche's boyfriend Marcus in the HBO series "Sex and the City."
Foster's West End credits include Avenue Q, Chicago and We Will Rock You, and on TV she has played PC Millie Brown in "The Bill."
Medcalf, who has played Sally Bowles in the West End's most recent production of Cabaret, is best known for her role as Sam Mitchell in TV's "Eastenders." Thorpe's West End credits include Mamma Mia! and Wicked. McKell plays corrupt TV detective DS Nick Henshall in TV's "Emmerdale." Burt has appeared extensively in the West End and for the National Theatre, including the original company of Les Miserables.
