Nominees for the 2006-2007 season will be announced at the famed Manhattan venue at 11 AM ET. Nominations in 23 categories will be revealed.

The winners of the Outer Critics Circle Awards will be announced May 14, and the awards ceremony will be held at Sardi's Restaurant in the Eugenia Room May 24. The awards are decided upon by a group of writers "covering New York theatre for out-of town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway."

Simon Saltzman, a long-time member of the OCC executive committee and theatre reviewer, serves as president. Marjorie Gunner, the organization's president for 25 years, continues as president emerita.

Last year, Tarzan was the only work of the season not considered for awards by the committee because they could not view the production prior to the eligibility cut off date. The musical will be eligible for this year's honors. The collective also added a new award for Outstanding New Score (in which both Broadway and Off-Broadway productions were eligible).

This year, Deuce, the new Terrence McNally play that boasts the return to the stage of Tony Award winner Angela Lansbury, has decided to make itself ineligible for Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Drama League races. Victoria Clark received a 2005 Tony Award for her performance in The Light in the Piazza. Her other Broadway credits include Cabaret, Urinetown, Titanic, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Guys and Dolls and A Grand Night for Singing. Among Clark's screen credits are "Cradle Will Rock," "Law & Order," "Law & Order: SVU" and "Sweeney Todd in Concert." As a director, she recently helmed the 92nd Street Y's "Lyrics & Lyricists" series Serenade in Blue: The Mack Gordon Song Cavalcade.

John Lloyd Young received a Tony Award for his work as Frank Valli in the Tony-winning musical Jersey Boys. For that performance he also won Outer Critics Circle, Drama Desk and Theatre World awards. His other theatrical credits include The Drawer Boy as well as productions at the McCarter Theatre and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
