News Clark, Baranski, Alda, Durang, More Scheduled for Events at NYC's 92nd St. Y Tony Award winner Victoria Clark, Alan Alda and playwright Christopher Durang are among the lineup of stage folk slated to appear at the 92nd Street Y this fall. Christine Baranski joins in this spring.

Playwrights Anna Deavere Smith and Susan Yankowitz are also among the guests for upcoming events at the New York City venue.

The events scheduled (subject to change) are as follows:

  • Sept. 23 (7:30 PM) — Alan Alda: Talking About Talking
    Broadway star of Glengarry Glen Ross chats with author and playwright Roger Rosenblatt.
  • Oct. 24 (1 PM) — Afternoon Night Table: Christopher Durang
    Playwright of Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All for You, Miss Witherspoon and more join Rosenblatt for this series of intimate afternoon discussions.

  • Nov. 11 (7 PM) —  Master Class: Victoria Clark
    Tony Award winner of The Light in the Piazza shares her expertise with advanced students in a vocal master class.
  • Dec. 3 (8 PM) — The Poets' Theatre: Ruth Rosen's William Blake at 250
    An ongoing series of verse dramas, plays and theatrical adaptations of literary text focuses on this British stage star's take on the poet's poems, letters and prose to create a dramatic presentation of Blake as an artist, poet and visionary.
  • Jan. 21, 2008 (8 PM) — Seven
    Seven playwrights — including Anna Deavere Smith and Susan Yankowitz — perform monologues based on interviews with and oral histories of seven women from Russia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Northern Ireland, Afghanistan, Guatemala and Cambodia.
  • March 3, 2008 (8 PM) — An Evening of Shakespeare: Antony and Cleopatra
    Tony Award winner Christine Baranski — who will star in Theatre for a New Audience's production of the Shakespeare work joins other cast members for a reading of scenes from the play. Director Darko Tresnjak will chat with the performers after the reading.
  • April 28, 2008 (8 PM) — The Poets' Theatre: Gilgamesh
    Robert Scanlan directs the adaptation of the Sumerian epic by Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Yusef Komunyakaa and dramaturge Chad Gracia. The 92nd Street Y is located at 1395 Lexington Avenue. For more information, visit www.92Y.org.
